Instead of the usual steel target shoot, we’re doing something different. First there will be a sort of 3-gun-shoot with a rifle-pistol-rifle (RPR) progression. The rifle stages are for AR15 type or similar semiautos and a bolt action target rifle with some pistol in between the two rifles. You’ll need two magazines for each firearm. Magazine pouches/carriers are a good idea. There will be multiple firing locations with movement in between. The matches will be structured so that you will never be moving with a loaded gun. Tables will be provided for your rifle while it’s not being used. You will need a holster for your pistol.
The second "something different" on the same day is a repeat of the USPCA style outlaw pistol match that we've done a few times before. Scoring is done by hit factor, which combines accuracy and speed to give you an overall score. The shooting course requires shooting around obstacles from various positions with movement between positions on some stages. Each stage consists of 10 targets that must be shot twice each and no shoot targets to avoid. Come practice your skills and maybe learn new ones. There will be 4 stages, with a minimum of 20 shots per stage, so 80 rounds fired not including misses and make up shots. Equipment is the handgun or PCC of choice and an outside the waistband holster with a mag pouch or two. The matches will be held simultaneously on ranges 1 & 2.
